Friday evening the 19th's, auction will include several large collections of photographic related items and collectibles.  Cameras include a collection of  Leica, Roloflex, Exakta, Alpa, Contax, Zeiss Ikon, Graflex, Kodak, early wood view & field cameras, Minox & other Mini cameras, stereo cameras, lenses, and many other early and collectible cameras and accessories.  The sale also includes unusual stereo-card viewers, images, daguerreotypes,  photographic related collectibles, and many-many books relating to photography. 

The sale includes cameras and images from the estate of the late Tom Clark, a much beloved photographer from the Frederick area.  The sale also features photographs and images from Tom Clark's father, renowned Life Magazine photographer, Edward Clark, who's lens captured presidents and celebrities alike including an iconic image of Marilyn Monroe and his brother Noel Clark a White House photographer. This collection includes 1000s of images from the Clark family.

A fascinating collection of Antarctic Exploration books, images, ephemera, and artifacts will also be included in this auction, hailing from the estate of Richard Conger who was a Naval photographer for Admiral Byrd's Antarctic expeditions. Conger collected Items related to Arctic and Antarctic exploration. He was one of the discoverers of Shackelton's hut and the sale will feature items from that adventure including artifacts found in Scott's & Shackleton's huts. This estate includes a very large collection of books on Antarctica and Antarctic exploration with many first editions from authors such as Richard Byrd, Robert Falcon Scott, Ernest Shackleton, Roald Amundsen and many more, some signed by the authors.  We also have Conger's personal cameras and cameras that he collected over the years including a rare Akeley cine camera used on Byrds early arctic and Antarctic expeditions for the filming of the exciting newsreels from Byrd's adventures. This collection includes 1000s of prints, images and slides, hundreds and hundreds of books on Antarctica and antarctic exploration from the 18th, 19th and 20th centurys.

Also included in Friday's sale will be a long time photographica collection from New York. This collection includes many early cameras, optical devices including an amazing early carved Pontioscopio Graphascope, photographic advertising, large metal bust of Daguerre, early images, Daguerreotypes, Ambrotypes, Tintypes, Ferotypes, CDVs, stereo views and viewers,  photo jewelry, hair jewelry, mourning jewelry, Daguerreian jewelry,  and much more including some large and important Daguerreotype images.

For those of you who are photography collectors and enthusiasts, history buffs, Arctic or Antarctic collectors or anyone who enjoys fine photography or cameras, this is an auction not to miss.

Saturday the 20th's auction features all things relating to transportation.  Most notably, there is a large selection of early gas-powered racers including Dooling, Syncro, Peerless, Matthews and others from an estate from New York.  There will be many other race car toys, automotive toys, automobilia including hood ornaments and similar collectibles. Also from the New York estate is a large collection of travel agent and factory display airplanes including 11 Lockheed Constellations from makers such as Rise Up, Verkuyl and others.  A large group of over 50 highly detailed ship models will also be featured in the sale, including masted vessels, steamships, riverboats and many other large, museum quality ships from a living estate in Florida. 

It wouldn't be an Old Town Auction without a large selection of antique and collectible toys!  This sale is no different, featuring a large selection of Black Americana toys, including a boxed Hey-Hey Chicken Snatcher, Alabama Coon Jigger, and many other jigger toys.  Featuring character toys, Popeye toys, automotive toys, airplane toys, cast iron toys, motorcycle toys, space toys, circus and carnival toys, cap guns and western toys. The sale will also include battery ops, wind-ups, German tin, Japanese tin, tin litho, and many other toys from makers such as Marx, Lehmann, Distler, Chein, Hubley, Dent, Fischer, Linemar, Tippco, G&K, Bing, Strauss, TPS, Matchbox, Schuco, Parmeta, Unique Art, Wolverine and Wyandotte.  A fabulous boxed example of the largest Britains Coronation set ever made will be another highlight of this eclectic group of toys.  The sale also includes a rare pair of store display large-scale Skookums.

We are pleased to offer several original works of art by renowned outsider-artist Steve Heller.  His incontrovertible flair for creating artwork from found objects, including antique car parts and household items is beyond belief.  We are lucky to have a large-scale light-up rocket ship as well as a rocket inspired floor lamp, and maybe more!

Antique advertising and country store items are also a large part of the weekend's event.  Notably, there is a rare Moxie die-cut as well as other beverage advertising including Coca-Cola items, a rare Glasscock salesman's sample Coke cooler, Westinghouse salesman sample Coke cooler and a very scarce Coke child's booster chair and much more from the estate of long time Richmond Va. Coke bottling plant manager W.C. Wells, beer advertising and many other advertising pieces.  A nice selection of country store display cases will be featured in this auction, including an unusual pair of Art Deco cases. We will also have a nice selection of figural cigar lighters and match holders.

Once again Old town will bring you more of the odd and unusual items we are known for. This sale will include several off the wall items such as a Large (not quite lifesized) animated elephant, a real glass fun house mirror, a WW1 era airplane propeller and other propellers, early telephones, giant movie prop airplanes and other large airplane displays, an early slot machine and much much more.

Coming around the bend on Sunday the 21st, this auction features a large selection of model trains.  Many different manufactures  will be represented, including Lionel, American Flyer, Ives and others many in original boxes.  The sale will feature trains in O gauge, Standard gauge, S gauge, both pre war and post war and even a large scale Live Steam Train. There are steam, electric and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, loader cars, automatic cars, cabooses and others. There is a nice selection of MTH, Williams and Railking trains.  There are signals, lights, accessories, stations, bridges, tunnels, and many other model train items.
