BIDDING AND TERMS

There are three different ways to bid at our auctions. The first and best way is to attend the sale in person each day. This will allow you to inspect all items of interest,  participate in room trading and enjoy the fun of the auction experience. We realize that not everyone will be able to be at the sale so we offer other options. Absentee bidding will be available on all items. If you wish to leave a bid on any item in the sale we will conduct bidding for you on a competitive basis.  This means that your bid will be executed as if you were at the sale bidding. Arrangements for absentee bidding must be made in advance to provide enough time for us to enter the bids. An absentee bid form will be available in our catalog or can be downloaded from our website. The other bidding option is phone bidding. Phone bidding will be available on a limited basis and we request that phone bidding only be used on items that will be bid to more than $250.00. Arrangements must be made well in advance for phone bidding as only a limited number of phones will be in use. The same forms used for absentee bidding can be used for phone bidding. Credit card information or 20% deposit will be required for all absentee and phone bidding. All absentee and phone bids will pay a 15% buyers premium. NO INTERNET BIDDING, We do not offer any form of internet bidding, this means that you cannot bid on our auction through ebay or any other live internet bidding service. We do not offer internet bidding because we feel that it has negatively affected the auction experience. The extra cost to the bidder and the unfortunate opportunities for false bidding have made internet bidding an unhappy experience for many.

TERMS: All items sold as is where is with no warranty expressed or implied. Buyers premium is discounted to 10% for cash or good timely check at the sale, 15% for any other time or form of payment. Checks over $2500.00 must be accompanied by a bank letter of credit unless the bearer is pre-approved by the auction house. Dealers must have a valid copy of their sales tax license on file with Old Town Auctions or bring a current valid copy, if not tax must be charged.
